Eucalyptus leucoxylon or Yellow Gum is a varied species and sometimes given different names depending on location. Occuring natirally from NSW through to South Australia this is a hardy tree that is resoanbly drought tolerant. A number of sub species including connata, pruinosa and megalocarpa all have slightly different characteristics. Grafted cultivars are also available.
Eucalyptus leucoxylon Rosea (10 -15m) is a smaller growing species with attarctive red flowers in spring and a flaky creamy grey bark, a good tree for smaller yards. All species are bird attracting and suited to a native garden |
