Hebe buxifolia

A small growing evergreen shrub Hebe buxifolia is an excellent landscaping plant that is tolerant of dry periods, but will appreciate extra water during long dry spells, grows well in full sun and is easy to maintain.

Glossy green dense foliage and masses of white flowers through summer make this an ideal low growing hedge or border plant, also works well as a filler or break in the perennial border. Frost tolerance is an advantage.

A well drained humus rich soil is best, full sun to part shade. Water in well with a liquid seaweed fertiliser. A slow release general purpose fertiliser once a year seems adequate once established. Hebe buxifolia will form a rounded shrub reaching around 40cm with a similar spread.
