However Laurus Nibilus is also suitable to use as a hedging plant. Although slow growing it will eventually reach 6-7m depending on conditions and is tolerant of poor soils. Bay Trees are also used for topiary as they are easy to prune to shape. Suited for use as a background tree in the border with great shiny foliage.
